Planned excursions are offered such as a trip to Dalyan to see the famous Lycian Rock Tombs, possibly paddle in the sulphur mud baths or indulge in a boat trip to Butterfly Valley that will take your breath away. The area is also wonderful for walking and we recommend a stroll from Hisaranu or Ovacik to the ghost village of Kayakoy, a village abandoned by the Greeks with over 3,000 uninhabited houses that is really worth seeing during your stay in Hisaronu.

Hisaronu culture
. During the first years of the republic, the government invested a large amount of resources into fine arts such as paintings, sculpture and architecture. This was done as both a process of modernisation and of creating a cultural identity. Be aware that the city's most famous relic from the days of the Roman Empire is an exceptionally well preserved amphitheatre. Because of the different historical factors playing an important role in defining a Turkish identity, the culture of Turkey is an interesting combination of clear efforts to be "modern" and Western, alongside a desire to maintain traditional religious and historical worth . |
